New York City Art - Emerging Artist Series

Original Art - Media - Genre - Isms - Landmarks - Artists on Commission
New York Art World avoids art trends in favor of works of lasting merit. The gallery showcase concentrates on original art works based on the belief that an artist's personal interpretation of subjects in the natural world is the experience felt most deeply by others.

The development of the arts from the Middle Ages to the modern era is an astonishing cultural achievement, from the breathtaking architecture of Gothic cathedrals to the daring visual experiments of the Cubist painters carrying even further into the 21st century.

Artists Medium - a substance regarded as the means of transmission of a force or effect; a mode of artistic expression or communication.
Genre—In genre painting and still life there is the transcendence of the ordinary; a kind of artistic composition characterized by a particular style or content; a painting that depicts scenes from every day life.
Isms—During the Rennaissance, there were many local "schools". Every country and town had it's own way of doing things. Today no man can remain an island. "Schools" are of little importance in modern art. Their place has been taken by movements or isms that spread across all boundaries.

The currents of the 20th century into the new millennium may be traced through the strata of Modernism, which includes the art of the 20s and 30s: demonstrating Regionalism and Social Realism, along with the works of renowned contemporary masters.
