Artist's
Statement
As an artist I am inspired by the unanticipated and mysterious
ways a painting comes into being. Composing with color, light
and form gives me an endless journey open to discovery. Through
making art I discover new worlds within myself and play with
the boundaries of my unconscious. An evolving image sometimes
contains a secret, sometimes is fruitful to the mind, sometimes
revealing.
My pleasure is to explore evolving images and to let them lead
me to new worlds. I owe my journey as a painter to New York
City. Living here allowed me to start painting seriously and
gave me a great freedom to explore the impossible. I believe
in vision and process, and I look forward to discovering more
feasts of colors and dreams.
All the paintings on display are made of watercolor, gouache
and/or pastel. A process of layering the paint creates ever-changing
images. Watercolors are true to my love of color and light.
Pastels give me the opportunity to further enhance colors and
shapes.
