I've always had a love for Abstract Expressionism.
The freedom it gives, the color usage, and the textural quality of that movement always appealed to me.

Abstractions are currently my expression.
One may call them Collage Paintings or Photo-Peinture.

The term was developed in the mid 1860's at the Salon's Royal Academy in France. Photo-derived paintings and paintings done over photo-imges fixed on canvas.

I glue photographs on canvas and then paint as if dragging the image onto the unpainted surface.
These mixed media paintings also include a variety of textures and media.
The classic nude has recently become the subject matter for these new pieces as well as landscapes, marshes and water themes.
