Vincent D'AlessioArtist Collection - Recent Paintings - Artistic Influences |
|
The Street Painters Vincent D'Alessio received no formal training but was encouraged and tutored by several of his artist friends, a group of New York artists who called themselves "The Street Painters". These artists are largely influenced by the Ashcan School, and most of whom have been painting for thirty to forty years or more. His early work is much influenced by some of the Barbizon painters and Impressionists, especially Monet and Sisley, as well as by Van Gogh. His work eventually evolved though he continues to paint mostly landscapes and cityscapes.

There are elements in his work from the Barbizon school, Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, the Ashcan school, Expressionism, Neo-Expressionism, and other "isms," etc.
However, his work remains difficult to classify and does not clearly belong to any single school. ![]() © Vincent D'Alessio 2003 Central Park Cliffs Oil on Canvas - 20" h x 24" w $5,500 |
