To achieve this lightness she uses a technique of layering transparent tones. Sferra's media includes: acrylic/canvas; acrylic/paper; oil pastel; pastel.

Notable among her recent exhibitions is the Albright-Knox Members Gallery in Buffalo, New York which has selected her work for two consecutive years for the annual New York Artists Exhibition.

She has also exhibited regularly both in New York City and nationally in such locations as the Birmingham Museum of Art, the Cornell Medical Complex Library, Columbia University Teachers College.

Currently a large painting is on loan to the National Foreign Trade Council in New York City. Her work is also in a number of private collections. Ms. Sferra has exhibited twice annually with the 14th Street Painters in Manhattan where she formerly had her studio.
