I cannot help but be influenced by philosophy, poetry, literature, psychological symbolism, fairy tales, music, myths, conceits, and metaphors, especially of strong femnist models — women's conflicting roles in a changing time throughout the centuries. Amy Banker 2003 I have been inspired by opera for many years and I had exhibited at the Metropolitan Opera House Gallery at Lincoln Center for the 2003 season. |

One of my patrons, who had previously bought several of my paintings, was highly enthusiastic over this venue for me, knowing my love for the opera.
The director gave me free license to create a series based on all the wonderful live performances and past historical masterpieces that take place at the Opera House and all over the world. |

I also have listened to the music in my studio and have articulated my own metaphorical images through paintings, sculptures, and works on paper. I have been attending the outdoor concert and performance series in Central Park, as well. |
